The much talked about AAKASH TAB is in the market and we have the real fact of the same in our Front as we purchased one online....

There are few points to be noted :

1)  The Price is Rs. 2,698 /-  ( Basic price : Rs 2,374.35 /- + Delivery  Charges + 189.07 + Vat  128.17 + Surcharge 6.41 )   ( As on 25th Jan'2012 )

This is very less as compared to any TAB with this configuration in Market ( No Tab present )  ( +  +)

2)  Touch Screen :  Poor Response and not consistent  ( - - )

3) Speed : Very slow , ok !  That we understand  is due to its processor capacity as known  prior to purchase  ( - )

4) On / Off Key : Very Bad , One has to press many times unless it starts . ( - - - )

5)  Connectivity :  It has Wi-Fi connectivity, but the fact is this is not available everywhere,  so effectively no connectivity, one has to be in the vicinity of WiFi Hotspot which is not present everywhere in Metros how come as claimed by Government that this is for Rural areas and it seems this is a gimmick  for just promotion.    ( - - - -)

6) Service Back Up  :  No Local service support that means once there is any problem no support  however Customer support No :  is given  0183-2580177 & 0183-2581330   if you call its always engaged , if you get them you can be ....the  lucky one.....   ( - - - - - )

7)  Battery : It takes 4 Hours to Full charge  and it gets discharged in 2-3 Hours when  used and if left overnight gets completely discharged ( This is with new Tab think what after 3 months )

8) Image Viewer : This is the best Feature of the Tab it is nice to watch your Snaps taken from Digital camera and transferred to microSD or Pen Drive better than some Mobile phones with a 7 " Screen   ( + + + )

What we FEEL  

What we feel is that if  one  go for a 10" NoteBook PC which has Intel Atom N570,  1GB RAM ,  HDD 320GB ,10"  LED Display is a better option. With multiple application .

costing  approx 13,500 / -+  Taxes as available in present market today

And Government should look  into this with Cut in Duties, Taxes and with discounts should promote and make available a Low Cost PC / Tab  to every student and I am sure Big Companies like Toshiba, HP, Dell, Asus, Samsung  and many will come forward even DATAWIND  for a genuine cause..........

Looking Forward to a Silicon Revolution in India very soon ............. which had been provoked by AAKASH ......
